Maximum Ride: Maximum Ride, or Max for short (her flock calls her Max) is the leader of her flock. She is 14 years old but turns 15 in the last three books. Her DNA contains 98% human and 2% avian. Her hair color was brown then turned dirty blond after it got bleached in the sun. According to the book The Final Warning (4th book) by James Patterson, she is 5'8 and weighs from 98 to 100 pounds. Pretty tall for age. XD Anyway, she is described as half Hispanic in the 3rd book, Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports. In the first book of the series, it said Max has a 13 foot wingspan. In the 2nd book, School's Out - Forever, she discovers she can fly above 200 miles an hour. She develops gills at the end of the 5th book, Max. According to Dr. Gunther-Hagen, a scientist in the series, Dylan is Max's other "perfect half". Max's father is Jeb Batchelder and Dr. Valencia Martinez is her biological mother. Max's also has a half sister named Ella. Ari, an Eraser, is Max's half brother, who later joins her mini flock then expires, leaving Max devastated. After Ari's death, Max and Fang rejoin.
